I guy friend of mine has just turned 36 years old. He has been working at an $11.00 an hour job at an insurance company for about 8 months now. He’s planning on he’s getting get his insurance license within the next few weeks to sell health/life insurance for this company. Right now, he has no car, (he is a cyclist and rides his bike everywhere), is staying with a friend at his place, and is living paycheck to paycheck. Do you think that at 36 years old there’s still hope for this guy if he wants a nice home and family, or do you think at this time he’s probably going nowhere and will always be struggling?
I realize that not ALL Republicans feel this way, but I answered a question about why the White House is lying about the amount of jobs that the stimulus provided, and received thumbs down b/c of my response. It was:
Not sure what numbers the White House has provided, but I can tell you about the company that I work for… as an IT Recruiter for a Federal Government Contractor, we support a division of the government that received $7 million in stimulus funds, which allowed for us to recruit for an additional 143 personnel to support that particular contract. We also just found out that we were awarded another contract that was re-opened for bidding in part b/c of funds received from stimulus money… that contract is a 210 FTE (full-time employee) contract. In all, in case you aren’t doing the math, b/c of stimulus funds, our company was able to provide jobs to 353 people across the mid-west.
What’s wrong with our company providing jobs that were made possible by stimulus money?
The contracts are 5 year contracts. I think that in 5 years, our economy will have made a recovery. If not, we’re still at least providing short term solutions (of at least 5 years).
YB Logical – our company didn’t acquire the $7 billion. The government sector that our company supports did.
Thanks to those answerers that chose to answer the question without interjecting some form of negativity.

im asking this for a friend of mines. she wants to find a job that has benefits but she doesn’t have a degree in anything. she is around her mid 40’s if that helps. please do not judge and i appreciate any suggestions you have for the kind of job that she may apply for. i know that these jobs are rare to find nowadays or why else would i ask. anyways, thanks to anyone that can help.
I am kind of good looking and in my mid 40’s and the interviewer sounds hot and under 30 over the phone.
even if she isn’t I think I have a better chance of landing at this job if she thinks I am single; well unless she married. Anyways, I want this job and I use to get jobs easy when I was single and now it seems like its more of a struggle since I have been married.
Well, my daughter broke her arm and has a cast up to her shoulder until mid August (yeah she did a good job!) What are some fun summer activies that she can do? She’s pretty bummed because we had to cancel camp and softball and she see’s her sister going off to the pool and waterpark. Any ideas on how I can make the most of her summer?
What should I get my parents for Christmas?
My parents are in their early-mid 50’s. When I ask them what they want, they tell me they do not want anything. But I want to get them something because they deserve something!
I am a 21 year old student with no job so I only want to spend about $100 (either $50 on each of them or $100 on one present for both of them).
Any suggestions?
