What is the cheapest way to travel to Bangkok?

mid jobs
Endless D asked:

I’m open to courier jobs, auctions, etc. The cheapest I’ve found is about $1070 for mid-Feb, 2010. Any help is appreciated.
I’m traveling from Memphis, TN. Sorry, I figured the cost from any US major city would be about the same.

You spend all this time asking this question and don’t even say where you’re traveling from. Don’t that make you feel foolish.

Endless: people all over the world can read your question. No one would know if your in The US, Europe or Asia asking this quesiton.

The cheapest way to travel to Bangkok is to start just outside the city and catch a bus in. Now if you want to let us know where you are starting from we won’t have to guess will we?

Kind of hard to tell you without knowing your departure location. If you’re looking for a cheap airline (also good quality), you might want to look at airasia.com (they have a number of international routes, and I know my neighbor has used them to fly from London-Kuala Lumpur-Bangkok (about 400 pounds).

Note: Rates to Asia during that time are generally expensive because of Chinese New Year.

    that is a good price

Flights are usually cheaper mid week United Airlines 2-15 to 3-5 is $1038 R/t. Delta is $1047 on Expedia and American is $1061. Since Memphis is not a hub (like Atlanta or Houston) the price is somewhat higher. If you can go out of a hub city the price will be cheap.

One other thing is try to price out of Chicago and then price a flight on SWA or AirTrans or Midwest to Chicago. Once I found a real cheap fair out of New York non-stop and then got a commuter fight to New York on Jet Blue. Sometimes though its not really worth the effort.

Here’s two sites that usually give pretty good pricing.
