I am building a new pc via cyberpowerpc on a tight budget. I am building it for mid-level gaming and multi-tasking. The only game I really want to play is crysis on high settings, so tell me if ya’ll think this would do the job.
630 watt xion atx power supply
intel core 2 quad q6600 (2.4 ghz)
standard intel cooling fan
asus p5n-e nforce 650i sli chipset lga775 motherboard
2gb ddr2/800 pc6400 mushkin extreme w/ heat speeder
nvidia geforce 8600 gt 1gb
320gb 7200rpm hard drive
windows vista home premium with service pack 1 32-bit
directx 10

That looks pretty good though I would upgrade the graphics card and RAM to 3GB’s if I could.
I agree with the first awnser. You might also want a 64 bit… works better.
I read somewhere that Vista Ultimate will recognize more RAM than any other version of Vista. It seems that 32-bit versions and 64-bit versions of something were part of the issue, but I don’t remember how.
Nice but I suggest using the 9600GT video card if you’re on a budget. Its the 9 series replacement for the 8600GT and dusts the 8600GT. Add more ram when you can afford it.
