So exhausted by the time it comes to Friday pm? Why? Am I doing too much?

I work in a pretty low stressed job (finance/accountant), from 9 to 5 at mid level. I used to work in much more senior roles but realised it was too stresful. I walk to work five days a week as I love the exercise. It takes me an hour and a quarter each way. By the time it comes to Friday evening, I’m exhausted and usually spend Saturday completely relaxing. I don’t even have children (I’m in my mid 40s) and wonder how Mothers do it all? I’m in very good health, am almost a vegetarian (just eat some fish) don’t smoke and drink just a glass every few weeks. I’m wondering why I’m so wrecked at the weekends?

    cut the exercise down for a while take vitamins and go have a good check up at your doctors test your thyroid!

    Anita, I am in a similar position.
    I am 43 and a financial controller.
    These last few years I have been getting more tired than I used to.
    I think it is a combination of having given up stimulants like caffeine & nicotine, and getting older.

    One thing I would suggest is perhaps getting more sleep: either at night or via power-naps during the day or evening. Also take the advice of the first answerer.

    I have the same problem! I work two jobs that total about 60hours a week, train 4 times a week in martial arts and am an active member in volunteering, all this gets squished in Mon-Fri….come Friday evening I can finally relax and unwind, thats where I think its the kicker! Its because you know you finally dont have something to do or something to prepare for or work that is due the next day to worry about that you body and mind finally go *siiiiiiiiighhhhhhhh*

    I often end up zzzzzzzzzzzz snoozing my head off on Friday after finally relaxing with a book or doing something idle like watching tv (for once!)…I really just think its the final unwinding and relaxing and not worrying about the next thing you have to do that makes you relax and ultimately feel tired, because Friday arvo is that only time you can! :)

    No idea if this helps at all, but its nice to know someone has the same Friday arvo probs as me :) this is just my own rationalising, but a check up from your doc is always a good idea!!
