And other variants of the same benefits, that allow people to stay unemployed indefinitely. If we weren’t at the point where we have to import foreign labour I wouldn’t care, but there a several million Brits on their arses for no good reason. My twin brother in laws are in their mid thirties and have never worked, they just parasite of the state, my hard earned tax money.
Should we limit it to something like one year in ten when we have good employment rates? A lifetime maximum? I could walk into a crappy low paid job tomrrow and support myself. Why should anyone get away with it when we are having to import labour?
Some of you didn’t read the question. I said ‘and other benefits of the same kind’. I know people who’ve never worked.
In no way am I suggesting that the disabled and elderly should be left to starve. I am disabled enough to claim benefits.

I live in a lower working/underclass area. You wouldn’t believe how many people I know socially here are ripping off the system. I don’t think most middle class people come into contact with a lot of long term ‘unemployed’. Most of the ones I know work on the side.
