Is it too early to be applying for a full time job?

mid jobs
Monkey M asked:

I graduate mid december of this year with a BBA in finance. Should I be applying for full time jobs now, and then have one lined up whien I graduate? Or do employers **** having to wait, and prefer to just have you apply when you are just about to graduate?

Thanks for your help.

any job is better than no job and looking will help you decide what job is easy to get

I’d start applying now. Finding a job may take some time.

I would definitely start applying now. I’m not in your field, but it can take a while to land a job. Different employers want different things. Even if you talk to people who want someone immediately, others might be more inclined to wait – and the best thing is, you’ll hone your interview skills, which is so critical.

There are also excellent books on the topic. One of my favorites is ‘You’re Hired: Secrets to Successful Job Interviews” and “You’re Hired! Secrets to a Successful Job Search” (which is the newer of the two and still in print) by Sharon McDonnell. She offers many of the most-asked questions and helps you prepare for the interview. An invaluable help! It’s paperback and not expensive.

But there are many more out there – browse at your local library to see which ones you like.
