I am one year or less away from completing a masters degree in either journalism or secondary education. I can afford the final year, but it will leave me with absolutely no money in the bank to make ends meet until I get my first paycheck. Using either program, I would receive my teaching certificate.
But I have received a job offer that I think I very good. The pay is excellent, although it is 4 hours away from my family and friends here. It is in a major metro area, and I was born and raised in a mid sized college town. The only person I know in this particular area is an exboyfriend.
It is a teaching position at a wealthy middle school, which will be a big change as I’m used to teaching college students. The content area is journalism, and at the end of the school year I would receive my teaching certificate. This would delay my completion of my masters for probably 2 years.
Both options look good, and I really can’t choose. I would love any input you guys may have. Thanks!
