I DO NOT want to work at H&R Block, but didn’t know if mid-level accounting firms in Chicago only hire from larger state schools or if they just care if someone gets their CPA. If you’re going back to school soon, I would just focus on studying and passing the CPA exams as soon as possible and sit out this job market. A lot of Big 4 are cutting their workforce left and right and the job market is flooded with experienced people with Big 4 on their resume.
