I wouldn't feel too bad by feeling exhausted at weekends. I'm the same.

I wouldn't say to stop walking to work but that is probably contributing to you feeling so tired. But you enjoy it, so why stop?

If you're Ok with relaxing at the weekend, I wouldn't be too bothered! That's what weekends are for!

It's just the work stress of the week catching up with you. Use the weekend to wind down :)

having read this my attention drew me towards the absence of bouts of binge drinking, falling asleep in a cafe, vomiting in a shop doorway, relieving yourself in someones garden and no mention of kebabs eaten at 3am. if you were to do these you would get the bus to work (late of course) coffee& bacon roll, use phone most of morning asking mates what you did that night as you don't remember anything, sleep at desk part of afternoon and get out of work feeling refreshed building up to facing hen night bliss on friday.

Maybe it really has something to do with mental things instead of physcial health? This is just a thought, but maybe you look at Friday afternoon as the "time to get exhausted." Also, a lot of people are exhausted after a work week. Thats what the weekend is for, to relax and have fun.

It is what you have programmed your body to do, basically, it is a part of your routine. We are all creatures of habit, and if you have done very little during the weekends for a long time, it is what it will continue to do if you don't break the habit. It is not necessarily a bad thing - we need down time every now and then, even mothers with children do. But their patterns are different, because of musts. If someone was dependent on you being active on a saturday, you probably would be without feeling tired.

It isn't uncommon for people to totally relax on the first of their two days off. It doesn't sound like you are doing too much, but you just need some rest after five days. You said your health is good, you're not in a stressful job, and that you enjoy the walking, I think you are perfectly normal from what you have written.

It may be that your body knows it doesn't have to do anything all weekend, so you finally relax, which makes you feel exhausted!
